Carpet cleaning in Wembley is priced by the room rather than by the hour. Bedrooms are £36, living rooms £43, a through lounge £61, a flight of stairs £41, and loose rugs £35 up to 3m² or £51 over it. Monster Cleaning Wembley works by hot water extraction, the machine that drives heated solution into the pile under pressure and pulls it straight back out on the same pass. Two rooms is the usual booking.

Room by room prices

Room Price
Bedroom £36
Living room £43
Through lounge £61
Stairs, per flight £41
Rug up to 3m² £35
Rug over 3m² £51

Two receptions knocked into one count as a single space at £61 rather than two rooms, which comes up constantly in the HA0 semis. There is a £67 minimum on one off work, so a lone bedroom booked by itself comes to £67. Two rooms clear it, and so does a bedroom booked alongside an oven on the same morning.

What the machine actually does

Solution goes in hot, the dirt lifts off the fibre, and the vacuum pulls the lot back out before any of it can sink again. That is the whole trick. A bonnet pad only skims the top of the pile and a dry powder sits in it until you hoover it out, and the grit that actually wears a carpet out lives at the bottom where neither of them reaches. The carpet comes up damp. If it comes up soaking, the machine has been driven badly.

Hard water is the reason we rinse

Wembley sits on a very hard Thames Water supply. Shampoo mixed into water that hard and then left in the pile dries as an alkaline residue, goes slightly tacky, and starts pulling dirt back in within a few weeks, which is why a cheaply cleaned carpet often looks worse a month later than it did before anyone touched it. So we soften and neutralise the rinse. It adds a good half hour to a house, it comes as standard, and it is the difference between a carpet that holds and a pale wool pile that dries with a chalky bloom in it.

Stairs, landings and the back extension

Most of HA0 is 1930s three bedroom semis, and most still have carpet on the staircase, which is where the wear actually happens. A flight is £41 and the small landing at the top is a separate £9, so one of each comes to £50. A straight run up to the landing counts as one flight, a house with a loft conversion has two, and the second is usually the dirtier because nobody hoovers past the turn. Rear extensions are the other thing worth mentioning on the phone. Half the semis round Preston Road have had the back opened up, and that extra stretch of carpet needs to be in the price before we turn up.

Machines in a managed block

North of the stadium the flats are newer, with hard floor through the living space and carpet in the bedrooms only. Those jobs are usually two bedrooms at most. The lift booking matters more than the cleaning does: concierge sign-in, a timed goods-lift slot, and a loading bay that runs in short blocks. Give us the block name and we arrange it a day ahead. Tokyngton and the streets off Olympic Way are where most of that work sits, and on an event day at the stadium those jobs go in early or move to another morning.

Drying, and what to shift first

About two hours before you can walk on a bedroom in socks, and the same evening before heavy furniture goes back. Shut windows and a damp day will stretch that out, so open one. We move sofas, chairs, coffee tables and beds where two of us can lift them safely, and leave wardrobes, pianos and wall-mounted televisions alone. Anything you clear first is carpet we can actually get at.

Where the dirt actually sits

In a hallway it is the first three feet inside the front door, plus the line worn down the middle. In a living room it is a horseshoe round the sofa. Bedrooms are usually the easiest room in the house and the cheapest to put right. Least walked on. If the budget is tight we tell people to spend it on the stairs and the hall, since that is what anybody walking in actually sees, and to leave the back bedroom until next time.

Sofas, mattresses and curtains

Upholstery goes by the piece instead. £57 for a two seater sofa, £33 for an armchair, £35 for a mattress, £13 for a dining chair, and curtains at £35 short drop or £42 long. Same machine, lower pressure, and more of the water dragged back out so nothing is left sodden. Corner units and three seaters get quoted on the call once we know the shape and the fabric, because loose backs change the afternoon completely. Leather never sees the machine; it takes a cleaner and a conditioner.

Stains, looked at first

Every mark gets a look before the machine goes on, and you hear there and then how far each one should come up, so the finished room matches what you were told at the start. Mention pet accidents or spilt drinks when you ring and we go to those spots first.

Where carpets fit with everything else

They sit outside the fixed price of a move out clean, so they get added by room when a tenancy ends, at a cheaper rate than these (a bedroom is £29 on a move out), and that is where most of our carpet work comes from. If the whole flat needs bringing back rather than just the floors, a one off deep clean with a team of two is the better buy at £186. Weekly hoovering keeps a carpet going in between and that side of things runs at £23 per cleaner per hour. Everything we charge for is on the prices page.

Questions we get asked

How much is carpet cleaning for a three bedroom house in Wembley?

Three bedrooms at £36 each and a living room at £43 comes to £151. Add £41 if the staircase is carpeted, and another £41 if a loft conversion has put in a second flight. A through lounge instead of a single living room makes that room £61.

How long before I can walk on it?

Around two hours in socks, and the same evening for furniture. If it is damp outside and you cannot open a window, give it longer. Nothing dries fast in a closed flat.

Will hard water leave a mark on the carpet?

It can, if the carpet is shampooed and never rinsed. Wembley’s supply is very hard and the residue dries as a pale bloom that shows worst on dark pile. Softening and neutralising the rinse after extraction is what stops it, and every clean gets that step.

Can you clean a carpet on the eighth floor?

Yes, with a portable machine. Blocks around Olympic Way need the goods lift booked with the concierge first, so we ask for the block name and the managing agent when you ring, and we make that booking ourselves.

Do you clean rugs and sofas as well?

Rugs in place on a hard floor, £35 up to 3m² and £51 over it. Upholstery goes per item: a two seater sofa £57, an armchair £33, a mattress £35, a dining chair £13, curtains £35 short drop or £42 long.

Do you move the furniture?

Sofas, chairs, coffee tables and beds, where two of us can lift them safely. Wardrobes, pianos and wall-mounted televisions stay put. Anything you clear off the floor beforehand is carpet we can actually reach.
