Seven days, 8am–7pm

Monster Cleaning Wembley charges by the appliance. Singles are £77, doubles £110, and a 90cm range cooker or a two oven AGA £143. Whatever comes out of the oven is soaked on its own: shelves, trays, side runners and the fan cover. Whatever stays put gets hand work at your worktop, which means the cavity, the door glass and the rubber seal. Cook in it the same evening.

The prices

Appliance Price
Single oven £77
Double oven £110
Single wide oven £114
Range cooker, 90cm £143
AGA, two oven £143
Ceramic hob, on the same visit £23
Gas hob, on the same visit £28
Extractor, on the same visit £28

One cavity is a single, and a grill compartment sitting above it does not make it a double. Two cavities is a double, which is most built-under pairs and every eye-level stack. A range is the freestanding 90cm sort with the wide hob across the top. Count doors if you are unsure. A hob booked without an oven comes to the £67 one off minimum. If you are moving out, the move out price does not cover the oven, so book it for the same day at £31: a two bedroom and its oven come to £274.

How long each one takes

Appliance Time on site
Single oven with a year on it About two hours
Double oven Nearer three hours
90cm range with the hob added Most of a morning
Two oven AGA Most of a working day

Tell us on the phone if nobody has touched it since the day it was fitted. That is the job that turns two hours into an afternoon.

Why the shelves soak

What sits on a shelf is fat baked on in layers, and no cloth in the world moves it. Left in a professional oven solution, the lot softens until a scraper takes it off, so nothing needs wire wool and shelves come back their original colour instead of scratched to silver. Half an hour of soaking usually does it, which is roughly how long the cavity takes by hand. Where the soak happens depends on the team: a few bring a heated tank along on the van and use it if there is a space right by the house, and the rest do it in your kitchen. The price is identical, and if you care which, ask when you book.

The door glass is the slow part

Gel goes on the roof plate, the back and the sides of the cavity and is left to work while we look at how the door is built. Most doors come out on hinge locks and split into two or three panes, and the brown film everybody hates actually lives between the glass. That is why a spray-and-wipe job never looks right afterwards. Sealed or glued doors we leave alone rather than break a hinge, and we will tell you which yours is. Fan covers come away where the fixings let them. Seals are wiped and left dry, never soaked, because a perished seal costs more to replace than the clean cost in the first place.

Hard water shows on the inside pane

Limescale is a Wembley fact and it turns up on oven glass more than people expect. The Thames Water supply here is very hard, so a rinse left to air dry leaves a white bloom across the inside pane and the job looks half done. So we dry the glass. Obvious enough, and the first step to go when somebody is trying to fit four ovens into one day.

Catalytic and pyrolytic liners get hand work

If your oven has rough matt panels on the side walls, those are catalytic liners and the soaking solution takes the coating off for good. So they stay in the oven for careful hand work, and they will never look as bright as enamel afterwards. That is the liner doing its job, not a clean gone wrong. Pyrolytic ovens go the same way: door, glass, shelves and runners get done, liners get left. Plenty of pyrolytic owners only need the glass and the shelves, and we would rather say so on the phone than sell you a full clean you have no use for.

An AGA has to be stone cold

Shut a two oven AGA down the night before and it will be cold by the time we arrive, which it has to be. £143, and most of a working day on site. Oil-fired ranges and anything bigger than a two oven get a figure once you have sent a photograph, since they vary far more than a standard cooker.

Booking round the stadium

We drive to every oven job, so on stadium and arena event days, when Brent’s special parking controls apply well beyond the ground, an HA9 oven booking gets matched to the fixture calendar before you are given a time. That goes double for Tokyngton, and the usual answer is an early start or another day.

Ovens that come round twice a year

A fair share of our oven work is repeat work booked every six months rather than a one off rescue, and most of that sits around Alperton and Sudbury. The reason is simply how often an oven runs. An appliance used at high heat most days of the week builds carbon on the cavity roof and the fan cover faster than one that does a roast at the weekend and sits cold otherwise, so the same job comes round sooner. The work does not change. Twice a year keeps on top of it, and leaving it three years means the racks sit soaking far longer before a scraper will shift anything.

Hobs, extractors and the bits people forget

A ceramic hob on the same visit is £23, a gas one £28, and an extractor £28. The extractor filter is the one nobody thinks about until a tenancy ends: metal mesh filters soak alongside the racks and paper ones have to be replaced, and we will tell you the size. Gas hob caps and burner crowns come up well after a soak too. A ceramic hob wants a blade and a proper cream, because a scourer hazes the surface and that haze is permanent. A microwave can go on the same visit for £22, and grill pans for £11.

Landlord changeovers

Agents usually book the oven for the same day as the move out clean, as a line on top of the fixed price, because the bedroom bands do not include it. Brent has one of the largest private rented sectors in London and Wembley is at the middle of it, so we run these back to back through a key safe with nobody home. Leave the code with the office and we send a photograph of the finished oven. If the property is empty and the electricity has been switched off at the meter, say so when you book, because most of the job happens in the kitchen and the cavity work needs a light to see the roof plate properly.

When the rest of the kitchen needs it too

Where the whole kitchen has gone the same way as the oven, a one off deep clean from £186 takes in the units and the worktops as well, and a weekly visit at £23 an hour stops the hob getting back to where it was.

Questions we get asked

How much does oven cleaning cost in Wembley?

A single oven is £77 and a double £110; a 90cm range or two oven AGA is £143, and a single wide oven £114. That buys the cavity, the door glass (split pane by pane where the hinges allow), the seals, and every shelf and tray that comes out to soak. A hob on the same visit is £23 and an extractor £28.

Can I use the oven straight afterwards?

Yes, the same evening. Everything is rinsed and neutralised before we leave, and the cavity is wiped dry. Some people run it empty at 200C for ten minutes first, which does no harm.

Do you take the door apart?

Where the design allows it. Most modern doors come out on hinge locks and split so the inner panes can be cleaned properly, and that film between the panes is what makes an oven look dirty from across the room. Some sealed units do not split, and forcing one is how you end up buying a door.

Do you clean the hob and the extractor too?

Yes, £23 for a ceramic hob, £28 for a gas one and £28 for an extractor when they go on the same visit as the oven. On a range the pan supports and burner caps lift off and soak with the shelves, as part of the £143. A metal mesh filter gets soaked as well; paper ones get replaced rather than cleaned.

What about an oven with catalytic liners?

Yes, but by hand, because the solution the racks go into strips the liner surface for good. They come out clean and never shiny, which is the liner doing what it was built to do. Pyrolytic liners get left alone for the same reason.

Is the oven included in an end of tenancy clean?

No. It is an extra on every band from the £156 studio up to the £425 four bedroom house, charged at £31, with a hob at £23 (ceramic) or £28 (gas), or an extractor at £28, on the same visit.
